I am still a practicing lawyer in Minneapolis and enjoying it most days. I always question why I ended up here, since even with global warming we can have a week of highs below zero, but it has been a great place to live, work and raise a family. My wife Diane in a Minnesota native and we have three children, all of whom will be on the west coast by the renunion, so that might be a retirement location harbinger.

My real estate and environmental practice is still going strong, I first came to the northern tundra to work at a public interest law firm after a year of teaching in Europe, started a law firm with two others in 1973 and through mergers and moves am now at the state's largest firm, Faegre Baker Daniels. As they say, "same, same, but different." My early environmental activism grew into an environmental practice, and then into real estate development and finance. I have been lucky to represent many of the largest developments in Minnesota, everything from sports stadiums to art museums to corporate HQs, and to have written many laws as a legislative lobbyist. Along the way I was involved in creation of several state parks and trails and millions of dollars of funding for environment and the arts. Now I serve on the state's commission to allocate our Environmetal Trust Fund and the boards of several environmental groups.

In the personal life, I have been privledged to travel to over 50 countries and enjoy some incredible outdoor adventures, sailing, kayaking, diving and hiking on most of the continents. Highlights would be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, hiking Torres de Paine in Chile and sailing the Aegean Sea off Greece and the coast of Thailand.

I look forward to swapping adventure stories with many of you at the reunion.

50 years and a few aches and pains, but remember, 67 is the new 50.
