Although I retired at age 51 from a career in finance, I was called into a second career two years later to help restructure a troubled nonprofit agency which served the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The restructuring was successful and the firm grew into its present size of 350 clients in central Oklahoma. It was awarded the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits' 2017 Nonprofit of Excellence. I am still working for the firm as an administrator and development officer.

Previously, I was financial vice president for an auto parts manufacturing company, tire plant controller, chief financial analyst, and worked as assistant to the president for Firestone Plantations Company for four years in the Republic of Liberia. I served on the board of directors for a company I helped structure that was selected as the USA Small Business Administration's 1992 Small Business of the Year, and the Oklahoma Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Administrators. I hold Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Oklahoma, and am a licensed, long-term care administrator.

My hobbies include managing my portfolio as an active, accredited investor; collecting antique phonograph records and players; international travel; enjoying classic films; and reading works on the humanities, economics, and finance.

I have been married to my wife for 50 years, the former Abby Cohen (Buchtel class of 1968), who is a retired special education teacher. We recently celebrated our anniversary on a Danube River cruise. Our extended family consists of two dogs and two cats.
